The copayment amount varies according to the type of healthcare and/or medical speciality.

Copayments do not apply to hospital admissions, surgical procedures, or treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and haemodialysis.

You can process the required authorisations for specific services quickly and efficiently, many of which can be requested online with a standard 48-hour response time. Therefore, if one of our healthcare professionals prescribes a service that requires authorisation, all you have to do is present the prescription, and we will process it for you.

The following services and tests require authorisation:

  • Hospital admissions
  • Medical tests.
  • Rehabilitation.
  • Clinical psychology.

All the coverages can be accessed immediately, except for those that include a specific waiting period, ranging from 3 to 10 months.

A waiting period is the period of time during which certain coverages included in the policy are unavailable.

There are no waiting periods in the event of emergency surgery, obstructed labour, or premature births that occur before the 28th week of gestation.

Customers coming from a private health policy with similar coverage to this product and who have been policyholders for more than 10 months will be exempt from waiting periods (see terms and conditions).

The following services have waiting periods:

3 months for:

  • Special treatments: electron radiotherapy and laser photocoagulation therapy in ophthalmology and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
  • High-tech diagnosis methods: immunohistochemistry, ergometry, Holter monitor, electrophysiological and therapeutic studies, nuclear medicine, amniocentesis and karyotyping, polysomnography, PET, CT, PET/CT, and genetic tests.
  • Outpatient procedures.

6 months for:

  • Tubal ligation and vasectomy.
  • Interventional diagnostic procedures: vascular and visceral interventional radiology and vascular haemodynamics.

10 months for:

  • Other special treatments: dialysis and artificial kidney, laser therapy, surgical laser therapy in peripheral vascular surgery, coloproctology, and gynaecological, ENT, and dermatological surgical procedures. Renal lithotripsy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
  • That the insurer bears the cost of the covered prosthesis and its implantation.
  • In-patient and day surgery admissions and procedures.
