Authorise online purchases made with company cards through CaixaBankNow

We remind you that CaixaBank company card holders must authorise their purchases in CaixaBankNow digital banking in order to make online purchases

The new European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) boosts the security of online purchases. When shopping online, CaixaBank company card holders must authorise online purchases through CaixaBankNow digital banking, either from their mobile phone with the CaixaBank app, or from their computer via the CaixaBankNow website.

As such, if a CaixaBank company card holder is not registered with CaixaBankNow digital banking, they cannot make online purchases *

* It is not necessary for company card holders that are not personal customers of CaixaBank to acquire a CaixaBank account or any other additional CaixaBank product to access CaixaBankNow digital banking for their company card.

The holder of a CaixaBank company card can also authorise purchases on the CaixaBankNow website, but will not receive a notification on their phone.

What clients need to authorise online purchases

Register for CaixaBankNow digital banking*



The company card holder can register with CaixaBankNow online and obtain their username (identifier) and password.

The company card holder can authorise their purchases this way.

Activate notifications in CaixaBankNow

When the company card holder has to authorise an online purchase, they will receive a notification to their mobile phone number (notifications will only be received if the company card holder has selected this option in their application.)



CaixaBankNow is CaixaBank's online banking service and is the means agreed to in card contracts for the transmission of consent for remote electronic transactions, allowing the authorisation of e-commerce transactions.

* Registration for CaixaBankNow digital banking requires a mobile phone number registered with the bank (whether personal or professional). The company card holder can register a mobile phone number through their CaixaBank manager or, if they are not a personal bank customer, at a CaixaBank branch.

These are the steps that holders of CaixaBank company cards must follow to authorise purchases from their mobile devices with the CaixaBankNow app:

1. When making an online purchase with a Caixabank company card, the card holder will receive a notification in the CaixaBankNow mobile app.

2. The user must access the CaixaBankNow app with their user or biometric credentials. When entering the app, a screen will appear with the button "Authorise".

3. The user needs to verify the details and authorise the purchase. The button will be available for 7 minutes. The user can also cancel the transaction.

Steps to authorise purchases from the computer through the CaixaBankNow website:

1. The holder of the CaixaBank company card makes a purchase online using their company card.

2. They can access CaixaBankNow online banking at www.caixabank.es from a computer with their user or biometric credentials. When entering the app, a screen will appear with the button "Authorise".

3. The user needs to verify the details and authorise the purchase. The button will be available for 7 minutes. The user can also cancel the transaction.

Not all purchases will require authorisation.
