Whether you reside in Spain or not, with CaixaBank you can register as a authorised representative of your company in order to bank quickly and securely.

Register as a authorised representative in just 4 steps

Whether you are a resident or non-resident in Spain, you can register as a proxy by following these steps:

1. Access the form

First, we will ask you to enter your personal details, contact info and your company's details.

2. Verify your identity

You will have to verify your identity through a video call.

3. Confirm your details

Next, we will send an SMS to your mobile so we can confirm your details.

4. You will receive a welcome email

We will send you a welcome email containing the steps to take to finish gaining access to the company's accounts.

How do I register as a authorised representative?

The process of registering as a authorised representative is divided into 2 parts:

  • Firstly, we will need your contact details, personal details and to verify your identity.
  • Secondly, the company must contact its CaixaBank adviser and provide all the documentation that proves your powers and/or authority so that we can add you to the company's accounts.

The steps to register as a authorised representative are as follows:

  1. Enter your contact information To register, you will need a good internet connection, your contact details and your telephone number.
  2. Enter your personal and company details Enter your personal details, a contact address, the company's tax ID number (CIF or NIF) and, if you are self-employed, your activity's CNAE code.
  3. Verify your identity Have your ID or passport ready and verify your identity through our biometrics and video identification system.
  4. Confirm the process We'll send an SMS to your phone number. Once we have verified all your details, we will send you a welcome email indicating the next steps to be followed.
  5. Contact your company Inform your company that you have initiated an online request to be listed as a new authorised representative. Any member of your company may provide their CaixaBank adviser with a document that certifies your powers.
    Once we receive the document and have checked it, we will add you to the company's accounts.

I have already completed the registration process but I cannot yet access the company's accounts

Once you complete the registration process, the company has to contact its CaixaBank adviser and provide all the documentation that proves your powers and/or authority. Once this documentation is delivered, we will have to verify all the data and documents provided by the company in order to add you to the accounts.

This process may take a few days until all the information and documentation provided are verified. After this verification, you will receive access to the company's accounts. You can check the status of the process with the CaixaBank adviser at any time.

I've completed the form but haven't received an email

If you completed the form less than 48 hours ago, you will receive an email informing you of the next steps.

If it was over 48 hours ago and we haven't contacted you yet:

  • Check your spam folder

When will I get access to manage the company's accounts?

Once we receive and verify your details, as well as the documents from the company certifying your powers and/or rights, we will add you to the company's accounts and give you online access.

This process may take a few days until all the information and documentation provided are verified. After this verification, you will receive access to the company's accounts.

Can I register as a authorised representative if the company is not a CaixaBank customer?

If the company is not a CaixaBank customer, you will not be able to register as a autorised representative of the company at the moment.

In order to register as a authorised representative, the company has to register with CaixaBank at a branch, where an adviser will assist it and register it as a company.

Once the company is registered as a customer, you can start your registration as its authorised representative.

Can I register as a authorised representative if I am already a CaixaBank customer?

This online process of registering as a authorised representative is only available for people who are not yet customers. 

If you are already a customer, contact your company's CaixaBank adviser so he/she can add you as a autorised representative in the accounts. In this case, you have to provide documentation that proves your authority.

I'm having problems validating my ID

If you are going to validate your identity document or passport using the video process:

Make sure you are in a well-lit place and have a good connection.

Follow the instructions carefully:

  1. Show the front of your document and avoid reflections so it can be seen properly.
  2. Tilt and move the front so that the security features are visible.
  3. Show the back of your document
  4. Type in the code that will appear on the screen.
  5. Smile for the camera!

What is the CNAE/NACE code?

The National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE in Spanish) is a numbering system whose purpose is to group and classify all production units based on their economic activity. Each unit is assigned a numeric code, which we call the CNAE Code.

The aim of this classification is to establish a hierarchical grouping of economic activities that can be used to:

  1. Calculate national statistics that are specific to established activities.
  2. Classify statistical units and entities based on the economic activity carried out.

This code is usually 4 digits and is found by working through the different levels of the classification categories until you find the description that matches your activity.

We will only ask you for your CNAE/NACE if you are self-employed (freelancer); if you are not, you will not have to report it. If you do not reside in Spain, you have to filter by category, class and division to obtain your equivalent CNAE.

What documentation does the company have to provide?

Once you complete the registration process as a authorised representative, the company will then have to provide all the documentation that proves your powers and/or authority so you can access the company's accounts.

This documentation is:

  • Deed of appointment, renewal of positions or registered power of attorney.

However, the CaixaBank adviser will inform the company of all the documentation to be delivered to include you as a Legal Representative in the company's accounts.
