The basic or CORE direct debit payment is a payment instrument which enables bills between legal entities and/or individuals to be paid electronically through a charge made from the payer's account.

This scheme enables the creditor issue a debit order in the debtor's account, authorised by a direct debit order.

In order to issue the basic or CORE debits, you need to have a standing order in force at the date on which the bill is issued.

The creditor must safeguard the order signed by the debtor for a minimum of 14 months following the issue of the last bill.
